The boat yard re-opened today after the Memorial Day long weekend and Sean arrived at 8:00 am to work on the shaft alignment of the starboard engine. He also replaced a couple of suspect cooling water hoses on the diesel generator set.

He was finished by 1:30 pm and we decided to do a sea trial to ensure everything was in order before our departure.

All of the repairs seemed to check out but we seemed to be suffering a bit of lack of top speed. After some head scratching about what may be the issue, we concluded that probably are heavily loaded with fuel, water, supplies and other equipment. The problem that did arise again were the same engine control problems that were supposed to have been repaired last week. These really hamper manoeuvring in tight quarters so we were relegated to remain at Snead Island Boat Works until we can get the technician back to look at the control system.

We made the best of the situation and had a leisurely BBQ supper, enjoyed the sunset and watched a movie on board.
