Rich and famous day ....

We left our anchorage in Barnes Sound at 08:00 and travelled north through Card Sound and Biscayne Bay to Miami. Biscayne Bay will be our last open water stretch for a while.

There was very little commercial traffic in Miami today, only saw a couple of docked container ships and no cruise ships. We are now into the part of the ICW where there are many bridges, some which have to get opened for us. They usually open on a schedule so you can end up wasting time waiting for the opening. We had 16 bridges today, six of which required opening.

The trip through Miami was interesting, lots of multi-million dollar homes and some other interesting establishments.

As we approached Ft. Lauderdale, we passed by a large container ship facility and a ship coming into dock.

The cruise through Ft. Lauderdale was fantastic with superb homes and some of the largest yachts you will see anywhere. We sure felt like we were on a small boat.

We continued north of Ft. Lauderdale and stopped at Lighthouse Point Marina at Pompano Beach. There our friends Bob and Sue from Boca Raton joined us for supper at a the Bonefish Bar.
