We did the leg of the trip past Cape Canaveral and Titusville today. We started out from Eau Gallie at 09:45.
We spent most of the morning in the Indian River which is the wide inland body of water separated from the Atlantic by Merritt Island (not to be confused with Merritt Island in Welland). The following is a view of travelling the Indian River. Stare at the following picture for the next five hours to imagine how exciting this part of the trip was.
A brief interlude to the scenery was passing by Cocoa and Titusville.

Other than that, pretty boring (except for surpassing our 500 mile mark) until we reached the Haulover Canal which finally got us out of the Indian River and into Mosquito Lagoon.
At the north end of the lagoon, the river narrowed and we got closer to shore so we could watch some scenery. We had to go slow because it was a manatee area. The mansions have now been replaced by trailer parks and folks standing and drinking in the water about a 100 feet from the ICW channel.
We approached New Smyrna Beach at around 18:00 after travelling 59.9 nm..
We stayed at the City Marina and had a nice slip with great views of the harbour and ICW.
There was an island immediately behind the boat that was populated by pelicans and other birds that entertained us until the sun went down.
Cumulative totals:
Distance travelled = 533.1 nm
Travel Time = 74:59
