We were awake at dawn in Sarasota and pulled up the anchor for our day's trip south.

Sunrise in Sarasota Bay

The trip on the GIWW south is a well marked but shallow channel passing by some of the best real estate Florida has to offer.

We passed by several bridges, some of which required calling the bridge tender to swing or raise for us.

We arrived at Venice at mid day and stopped at a marina to top up with fuel.

The highlight of today's trip was the dolphin display in our wake near Boca Grande. We were cruising at a bit higher speed when suddenly a dolphin appeared in our wake and followed us for at least a mile.

We ended out day's trip off Pine Island near Fort Myers at anchor just off St James City. The wind was fairly strong and we required two attempts to get the anchor to finally set for the night.

Today we travelled 63 nautical miles for a total of 85.9 nautical miles.
